Steve,

Good points in the above. I would also add that a large percentage of the market is relying on traditional physical backup applications to manage the data protection within their virtualized data centers. I have yet to find, in my discussions with end-users, a large mass of organizations that have adopted integrated backup with the virtualization platform. This maybe due to the lack of solutions at the time that they deployed the virtualization platform, the lack of education or best practices by the players in the space, or simply a lack of a compelling value proposition for these technologies when the organization has already paid for the licenses that they are reusing in their virtual data center. I do see a move by organizations to NAS platforms in their virtual data centers, as you have stated, as it eases the management and control of the virtual platform and the supporting data sets using proven snapshot, cloning, and replication technologies. Only time will tell where the organizations will go, but we can help educate the market to make sound decisions. Thank you.
